The Algarve Biomedical Center – Research Institute is pleased to announce that it will hold the International Forum on the theme Neuroscience in Health and Diseases, which will take place on the 2nd of November 2021, between 1pm and 5pm. in online format.

ABC-RI International Forum: Fall Edition 2021 brings researchers from around the world together under a specific topic and provides a platform to share new research findings, ideas and foster new collaborations. The forum encourages discussion at a global level and aims to enable new and strengthen ongoing scientific collaborations.

This session will feature as keynote speaker Dr. Ryoichiro Kageyama of the Neural Stem Cell Research Lab at Riken Center for Brain Science, Japan.

 

They also have as confirmed speakers:

   - Doctor Inês Araújo, from the Algarve Biomedical Research Institute, Portugal

   - Doctor Diogo Castro, from i3s, Porto, Portugal

   - Doctor Laura Pellegrini, Madeline Lancaster Lab, MRC Laboratory of Molecular Biology, Cambridge, UK.

 

 

And it will be chaired by Doctor Isabel Palmeirim of the Algarve Biomedical Research Institute, Portugal.

1:10 PM - Keynote speaker: Doctor Ryoichiro Kageyama from the Neural Stem Cell Research Lab at Riken Center for Brain Science, Japan with the theme: “Dynamic control of neural stem cells in the adult brain”

2:10 PM - Doctor Inês Araújo, from the Algarve Biomedical Research Institute, Portugal with the theme: “Post-translational modification of neurogenic signaling by gasotransmitters”

 

3:00 PM - Break

3:10 PM - Doctor Diogo Castro, from i3s, Porto, Portugal with the theme: "Transcriptional control of glioblastoma cell invasion"

4:00 PM - Doctor Laura Pellegrini, from Madeline Lancaster Lab, MRC Laboratory of Molecular Biology, Cambridge, UK with the theme: "Breaking the barrier: CSF-producing choroid plexus organoids model drug and pathogen entry to the brain"

4:50 PM - Closing speech
