Overview
This course is part of the Leonardo da Vinci Program Project: “Framework for Continuing Educational Development of Trainers in General Practice in Europe - CEDinGP” (Project nº 2010-1-PL1-LEO05-11460 UE) and is organized by a group of partners, led by EURACT (European Academy of Teachers in General Practice).

This edition constitutes an expanded version intended for all Medical Specialties and not just General Practice and Family Medicine (GP/FM).
Medical undergraduate teaching has always been essentially the responsibility of physicians. This fact substantiates the need for trainers with clinical practice. On the other hand, there is a similar and growing need for supervisors of specialty-specific training across the various medical specialties.
Workplace-based teaching, in the context of clinical practice, requires the application of specific methodologies and assessment techniques, which may involve the patient with possible consequences for their health status. It also requires special knowledge and skills in feedback and a close working relationship between the trainee and the trainer.
The Leonardo EURACT Level 1 Course is aimed at trainers at the beginning of their careers, particularly in the context of clinical practice.
The main objectives are to improve the level of workplace-based teaching, to ensure the dissemination of knowledge and skills by course participants in their own regions, and to stimulate the development of medical education in its multiple modalities — Undergraduate Medical Education, Specialty Internship and, where it exists, Continuing Medical Education aimed at Continuing Professional Development.
